A national trainer for NADA, the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association, she has been an adjunct faculty member at Maryland University of Integrative Health, formerly Tai Sophia Institute, for 11 years. Dr. Carmen Jiménez, is a Florida-licensed Acupuncture Physician and Doctor of Oriental Medicine at Cosmopolitan Healing Center in Plantation, FL. She holds a Doctor of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (DAHM) from Daoist Traditions College, a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University (Los Angeles, CA), and a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). The methods used at my practice are aimed toward giving the body synergism—not just treating symptoms temporarily or numbing pain with numerous medications. I strive to help the body heal itself from within, by treating the root and not just the branch of a problem. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, disease contains two parts analogous to the roots and branches of a tree. The symptoms are like branches, and if you only treat them, the same roots will soon grow the same symptoms again.
