Author and Acupuncturist Shoshanna Katzman L.Ac., M.S., Dipl. Ac., & C.H., has been a Chinese Medicine Practitioner for almost 40 years. Combining this with a master's degree in Sports Medicine and master's level training in Energy Medicine, Shoshanna offers a unique form of holistic healing and support to her clients. The methods used at my practice are aimed toward giving the body synergism—not just treating symptoms temporarily or numbing pain with numerous medications. I strive to help the body heal itself from within, by treating the root and not just the branch of a problem. I use a wide variety of modalities that best serve the individual needs of the patient: acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, herbal formulas, Tui Na (Asian Bodywork), and Kinesiotaping. These methods can be integrated with Western approaches as well. Your treatment will be a partnership: discussed, understood, and agreed upon. John K. Miller, MAOM, L.Ac, is a licensed acupuncturist practicing in New York City. A graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, John earned a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Since 2006, he has studied with Tom Tam, learning Tong Ren, Tom Tam’s Healing System. He practices Tai Qi, yoga, Qi Gong, Pang Gu and meditation. For exercise, John runs regularly in Central Park, practices Hatha Yoga, commutes throughout the city on his bicycle and is an avid telemark skier.
John was born and raised in Roxbury, Massachusetts. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he pursued a professional basketball career in Europe. Following his athletic career, John spent a decade in India, offering his service at an international not-for-profit Charitable Trust. During his stay, he studied India’s indigenous system of medicine, Ayurveda. He returned to the United States to study Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Boston. His teachers include Master Ou Wen Wei, Paul Fraser and Ken Wong.
