AcuMediZen is the brainchild of owner and New York State licensed acupuncturist, Charlie Sylvester. Charlie provides acupuncture and various Chinese medical therapies to the Rochester and surrounding areas with the simple goal of educating people about their health. Charlie is a huge proponent of preventative medicine in an effort to decrease the flow of people to local hospitals and increase individual awareness about their own health and wellness. As a member of a family of acupuncturists and herbalists, I am proud to be a fourth-generation practitioner. My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kyung-Hee University in Korea. I have also taught yoga, qi-gong, healing, and meditation in both Korea and the USA. Following in my family's footsteps, I pursued a career in acupuncture and studied Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at South Baylo University in California. Marcia is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Her doctoral work specialized in Family Medicine with an emphasis in pain management and mental health. Her internship began at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2005, after graduation in 2008 she went into private practice treating a wide range of ages and health concerns. She holds a national diplomatic certificate in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as well as a California, Ohio and Illinois state license.
