South Baylo University (SBU) clinics are dedicated on providing the highest quality of clinical education to the interns. SBU interns are trained to conduct standardized procedures, identify medical emergency situations, and develop treatment protocols for patients. Interns are educated to explain major concepts and theories of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM). Interns will perform, along with the guidance of a supervisor, AOM diagnostic methods, formulate, implement, monitor, and adapt acupuncture treatment plans.

SBU's goal is to train primary care practitioners in the field of AOM who will demonstrate competencies in patient care and comply with ethical, legal, safety guidelines, and communicate effectively in diverse and multicultural settings.

Alameda Acupuncture is a group of Traditional Chinese Medical practitioners led by Dr. John Nieters, L.Ac. DAOM. Our practitioners work cooperatively and coordinate care. Our patients have the option to come in six days a week including some evenings and know that we can provide care a moment's notice. This is especially helpful with urgent care orthopedics, colds and flu and in integrative fertility treatments. Offerings include acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping, moxabustion, custom herbal prescriptions, supplements, dietary therapy, tui na orthopedic massage, chi nei tsang abdominal massage, exercise and diet plans and cutting edge low-cost laboratory testing, free educational workshops and seminars designed to promote community and sustain the effects of treatment.

GRADUATING FROM THE SANTA BARBARA COLLEGE OF ORIENTAL MEDICINE SHE
RECEIVED A MASTER’S IN TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE. AFTER
GRADUATION SHE COMPLETED A 7 MONTH INTERNSHIP AT THE RENOWNED BEIJING
UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL. FROM THERE SHE BEGAN HER CAREER WORKING FOR A
MEDICAL DOCTOR WHO SPECIALIZED IN CHRONIC PAIN. CHARLENE HONED HER
SKILLS BY TREATING UPWARDS OF 80 PATIENTS A WEEK. THERE SHE TREATED
EVERY TYPE OF PAIN CONDITION IMAGINABLE AND RECEIVED FEEDBACK FROM HER
PATIENTS DAILY THAT ACUPUNCTURE WAS THE MODALITY THAT WAS GIVING THEM
THE MOST EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEF.

CHARLENE BECAME INTERESTED IN ACUPUNCTURE, NATURAL MEDICINE, NUTRITION
AND YOGA IN HER 20’S. BATTLING WITH WEIGHT, HORMONAL ISSUES,
ALLERGIES AND CHRONIC PAIN FROM A CAR ACCIDENT LEFT HER LOOKING FOR
ANSWERS. SHE WAS FASCINATED AND EXCITED BY THE THEORY THAT IF YOU GIVE
