Dr. Alexander J. Hou, M.S., D.O.M., A.P., graduated with a Master of Science degree from Florida College of Integrative Medicine earning his Doctor of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture Physician designation in the state of Florida. He is a member of the Florida State Oriental Medical Association (FSOMA). As a 3rd Generation Acupuncturist, he has learned to appreciate both traditional medicine and Western medicine, which can enhance the treatment effectiveness in patients. Dr. Alex Hou specializes in pain control, sports medicine, and balancing treatments. He has also treated people with a wide spectrum of things from quitting smoking to paralysis of having a stroke.

Dr. Réquel Lopes, AP is the owner and healing practitioner at Dragonfly Wellness in Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, FL. She earned her graduate degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the prestigious AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine, in Austin, Texas. She is a licensed acupuncture physician in the state of Florida and board certified by the National Certification of Oriental Medicine Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in Oriental Medicine. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Barnard College of Columbia University in Psychology. She is a member of Florida State Oriental Medical Association.

She has been treating patients for the past 10 years. As a licensed Acupuncture Physician, she brings her extensive experience to her patients by using an integrative care approach. She uses various modalities in combination, to best address her patient’s needs. This comprehensive approach may include acupuncture, cupping therapy, Chinese herbal formulations, as well as lifestyle counseling to restore balance and promote optimal health for the body, mind, and spirit. She incorporates various styles and techniques with her gentle needling treatments –Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five Element, Esoteric Acupuncture (Sankey Acupuncture), Master Tung Style, Dr. Tan’s Balance method, and Neuro-acupuncture from Dr. Hao.

Dr. Lopes treats successfully a wide variety of pain, insomnia, emotional, digestive issues, headaches, gynecological and fertility challenges, insomnia and emotional issues. Dr. Lopes give back to her community in many ways. In 2002, Phil realised that there were strong correlations with the underlying health problems of his patients and the pre-existing surgical or accidental scar tissue elsewhere on the patient’s body. This scarring would cross meridians which clearly demonstrated a solid link to their overall lack of health, some refer to this as Sho. Consequently, Phil discovered and developed a range of techniques using the “Yanagishita” teishin, a gold teishin, or Shi Zhen which is mentioned in the Miraculous Pivot & the Suwen, it is one of the 9 classical needles.
As a result, this amazing technique quickly reduces any form of scar tissue, including keloids, from a severe hindrance of reduced conductivity to enabling the free flow of Ki, so that the scarred skin more closely resembled the surrounding skin tissue reverting to it’s natural skin colour. The damaged tissue was revitalised in the affected area and had regained the lost tactile sensations and reduced the size and malformation of the damaged site.This resulted in a workshop presentation at the 2007 AACMAC in Brisbane.
