Karen is a graduate of the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago and received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. She is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Illinois as well as a National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) certified herbalist. She is also a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) and provides ear acupuncture as a part of a comprehensive model of care to help with addictions, PTSD, and behavioral health. She enjoys working with a variety of conditions such as emotional, stress-based conditions, anxiety, depression, digestive disorders, and women’s health. She believes in building partnerships with clients to promote their better health and optimal well-being through compassionate care to achieve an individual’s balance of mind and body.

Drawn to many of the mystical practices that originated in ancient China for most of my life, I’ve been a California state licensed acupuncturist since 2002 and a student of the Jade Purity branch of Daoism since 2001.

After many years of questioning the nature of reality, and using these practices to work through my own struggles, heal old wounds, and find a deeper connection to the Divine, I’ve personally seen just how powerful and transformative this path can be.

My studies of medicine, meditation, philosophy, mindfulness-based practices, and religion have always been focused on the practical application of these subjects in the lives of my clients and myself.

Lana Moshkovich, LAc, ND, MSOM, trained in both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), offers acupuncture, as well as a dietary approach, alone or with herbal remedies, to resolve musculoskeletal pain and numbness, gastrointestinal complains, chronic conditions, insomnia, anxiety and women’s health issues. She has opened a new office in the heart of downtown Glenview on the second floor at 1834 Glenview Road.

She states, “My primary goal is to provide my patients with a broader understanding of health and a more lasting sense of well-being. Instead of the traditional disease-centered focus of conventional medicine, naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine apply a patient-centered approach that addresses the whole person, rather than simply symptoms.

“I combine the discipline of modern science with the wisdom of ancient healing and take advantage of the knowledge of several disciplines, including dietary therapy, healing touch, tuina therapy and psychology,” says Moshkovich. “What this means is that patient and provider work together to develop an integrated diagnostic and therapeutic plan that will best address the patient’s health concern.”

I am an accomplished alternative healthcare professional, with over 22 years of hands on experience in the bodywork field. I am passionate about acupuncture because of what it has done for me personally, and the positive results that I have witnessed for so many of my patients. It is important to me as your practitioner, to provide a treatment plan that is unique to you, and supports your health goals. I usually ask that you commit to 3 treatments. Generally, results are experienced by then. At that time we will re-evaluate and determine which course of action is best.

I have been a licensed acupuncturist since 2003. My training includes TCM, Japanese and Acupuncture Physical Medicine. APM is a unique needle technique taught at Tri-State College. This technique uses a motion that releases muscle constriction and trigger points, thereby promoting the free flow of Qi. My experience includes treating a variety of medical conditions including but not limited to anxiety, depression, muscular conditions, sciatica, neck and back pain, tendonitis, asthma, headaches, neuropathy, sleep disorders, skin conditions and fertility. Primarily I use needles, but may also use cupping, guasha, and massage. I have experience with adults as well as children. I also take no-fault insurance and participate in some private insurances.
