Karta also known as Ibolya E. Laar, completed The Master of Science in Acupuncture (MS-Ac) program at New York’s Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM), the biggest acupuncture college in the USA. In this program where East meets West, Karta studied the clinical practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in our modern world. She is well trained in the practical application of cupping, gua sha (a scraping technique), moxibustion (heat therapy), the use of electric stimulation (e-stim) and the Chinese body work Tui Na. In addition, Karta is a recent graduate of massage therapy from PCOM as well. Upon completion of this hands-on program she refined her sensitivity to the muscles and joints of the human body enhancing her therapeutic touch.
In her private acupuncture practice Karta teaches her patients pain management and successfully treats shoulder pain, back pain, knee pain, sprains or strains and post-surgery pain including joint replacements. My areas of special interest include: neurological conditions, geriatric care, acute and chronic pain management, and sports medicine. I am continually pursuing higher learning in these areas and receive ongoing training to ensure the best results for my clients. I utilize acupuncture, moxabustion, cupping, TCM diet therapy, and lifestyle counselling to design treatments best suited to my client’s needs. Brandon LaGreca, CAc, MAcOM, is a certified acupuncturist in the state of Wisconsin and is nationally certified in the practice of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Drawing upon eight years of clinical experience following three years of master’s level training in Chinese Medicine, Brandon has done post graduate work at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Jiangsu region of southern China where he specialized in acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulations. Brandon offers a complete line of Chinese herbs and nutritional supplements at East Troy Acupuncture to complement his acupuncture practice. When he’s not researching and practicing Chinese medicine, Brandon studies traditional diets and their role as both food and medicine. Brandon is a chapter leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation and enjoys sharing nutrient-dense home cooked meals with friends and family.
