Acupuncture helped my so much I was able to climb Ben Nevis, which was something I never thought I'd be able to do. When working with Ira you should expect real and lasting results. All patients will be given treatment to address their main symptom as well treatment to address the underlying cause of those symptoms. Each treatment is tailored to the specifics needs of each individual patient.With the addition of lifestyle and dietary adjustments and some simple exercise Ira looks to not only improve your health but teach you how to maintain it.

For most chronic conditions the majority of patients should see very noticeable changes within 6-10 treatments. Some patients see changes faster while others see results taking slightly longer. You can also expect lifestyle advice, dietary advice and recipes to help address chronic health concerns. For some patients herbal medicine will be incorporated into the treatment to improve results and strengthen the effects of the acupuncture treatment.
You can also expect honesty. If Ira believes he cannot help you or if treatments are not offering the results expected he will do his best to find you the proper referral to meet your needs. All patients can find relief for what ails them. Ira will do his absolute best to help you. If his is unable to he will find someone that can.

may I take a little of your time to tell you a little of my story? If you answered yes, read on. My introduction to acupuncture was due to a traumatic accident about twenty-two years ago. I injured my left neck/shoulder/arm and sciatic nerve in 1993 so I could not work as an EMT because I could not lift any thing heavier than a loaf of bread. After trying allopathic medicine for a year, the doctors told me that I would never heal so just learn to live with what left arm and leg movement remained. That's when I decided to try massage school. My injuries did start to heal with daily treatments over a years time but I wanted more pain relief and more strength in my arm and leg so I did more research and decided to start acupuncture school. That turned out to be the best decision of my life. Not only did my left arm and leg get well and pain free, (the muscles that had atrophied returned to their pre injury size) and best of all my pain was gone! The biggest blessing of all was that I found my life's passion. I became an acupuncturist and herbalist to share this healing art with my family and friends. John K. Miller, MAOM, L.Ac, is a licensed acupuncturist practicing in New York City. A graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, John earned a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Since 2006, he has studied with Tom Tam, learning Tong Ren, Tom Tam’s Healing System. He practices Tai Qi, yoga, Qi Gong, Pang Gu and meditation. For exercise, John runs regularly in Central Park, practices Hatha Yoga, commutes throughout the city on his bicycle and is an avid telemark skier.
John was born and raised in Roxbury, Massachusetts. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he pursued a professional basketball career in Europe. Following his athletic career, John spent a decade in India, offering his service at an international not-for-profit Charitable Trust. During his stay, he studied India’s indigenous system of medicine, Ayurveda. He returned to the United States to study Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Boston. His teachers include Master Ou Wen Wei, Paul Fraser and Ken Wong.
