Welcome to the Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine branch of the Abiding Spirit Center, where we provide holistic health care to the community. We serve McHenry County, Kane County, Lake County, and Cook County, including the communities of Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, Elgin, Carpentersville, Cary, Woodstock, Barrington and Huntley, as well as other nearby cities.

The services we offer include all aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture, Acupressure, Electro-acupuncture, Chinese herbal
medicine, Tui Na massage, Gua sha, cupping, moxibustion and nutritional guidance. We take a holistic approach to the healing of chronic pain, sports injuries, migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome and many other conditions. Holistic health care is a growing area of interest, and we are happy to bring these healing techniques to our patients. We are licensed and NCCAOM board certified.

Fraser Cobham is a fully qualified practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA). He is also a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA) and Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (CMBA).

Utilising his skills in herbal medicine and acupuncture, he now treats at the I Am Mind Body Soul Wellness Hub in Gerringong, as well as operating a professional home-based practice in Cambewarra, servicing Nowra and surrounds.

Over time, Fraser’s clinical practice has naturally evolved to predominately working with female specific health concerns. He has a special interest in treating women with hormonal disorders, fertility issues, IVF support, menstrual irregularities, and chronic digestive complaints. He also frequently treats musculoskeletal conditions, symptoms related to autoimmunity, sleep issues, anxiety, depression and stress.

Each year, Fraser undergoes continuing professional training in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and professional standards to optimise his treatment strategies and outcomes. Often working collaboratively with other practitioners both within and outside his clinical practices, you can expect a consultation and treatment with Fraser to feel welcoming, safe and professional, with a strong focus on your individual needs.

Boston Chinese Acupuncture was founded by Li Zheng and Changhong Zhou, PhD, licensed acupuncturists and herbalists. Trained in China at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine under world-renowned practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), they have over 60 years of combined experience using acupuncture and Chinese herbs to treat a variety of difficult and chronic diseases. Our office in Needham is conveniently located near the commuter rail and I-95 and is easily accessible from Boston and its surrounding suburbs, including Wellesley, Dedham, Framingham, Lexington, and Newton.

John K. Miller, MAOM, L.Ac, is a licensed acupuncturist practicing in New York City. A graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, John earned a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Since 2006, he has studied with Tom Tam, learning Tong Ren, Tom Tam’s Healing System. He practices Tai Qi, yoga, Qi Gong, Pang Gu and meditation. For exercise, John runs regularly in Central Park, practices Hatha Yoga, commutes throughout the city on his bicycle and is an avid telemark skier.

John was born and raised in Roxbury, Massachusetts. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he pursued a professional basketball career in Europe. Following his athletic career, John spent a decade in India, offering his service at an international not-for-profit Charitable Trust. During his stay, he studied India’s indigenous system of medicine, Ayurveda. He returned to the United States to study Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Boston. His teachers include Master Ou Wen Wei, Paul Fraser and Ken Wong.
