Miami Acupuncture & Classical Herbs was established by Dr. Carolyn Cook in 1994. She has been a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture Physician, and a Licensed Massage Therapist for more than 20 years of practice. Dr. Carolyn Cook offers an integrative approach to health based on the ancient tenants of Classical Chinese medicine.

As a member of a family of acupuncturists and herbalists, I am proud to be a fourth-generation practitioner. My educational background includes a bachelor's degree in business administration from Kyung-Hee University in Korea. I have also taught yoga, qi-gong, healing, and meditation in both Korea and the USA. Following in my family's footsteps, I pursued a career in acupuncture and studied Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at South Baylo University in California. In addition to my passion for healing, I enjoy traveling, art, and writing, and I find great joy in meeting new people and helping them in any way I can

Co-founder Megan Dauphin is a California board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist renowned for her expertise in fertility, menopause, hormonal balance, metabolic disorders, and digestive health. With a unique blend of certifications in functional medicine, plant-based nutrition, and Chinese medicine infertility specialization, Megan crafts holistic treatments tailored to each individual's needs.

Over the past decade, co-founder Brent Dauphin has worked extensively in pain management, treating injured workers within the worker’s compensation system. Brent holds advanced certifications in sports medicine and orthopedics, and specializes in the use of Motor Point Acupuncture, sometimes referred to as dry needling. In addition, Brent is trained and certified in Tuina, a form of Chinese massage used in conjunction with acupuncture for treating pain, and is certified through the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Allison strives to provide a safe space to discover health and joy with the help of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. She firmly believes that you and your body are capable of so much. The innate wisdom of your body can lead you towards greater wellness, sometimes we just need help remembering. She looks forward to witnessing your journey while practicing non-judgement and meeting each patient with an open heart.

Allison’s formal training was completed at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon where she received a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine with Honors. Training in Classical Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Qigong and Worsley Five Element Acupuncture has filled Allison’s toolbox with effective means for treating disease and walking with patients towards harmony and a more ease-filled life.
