Vita-Health Acupuncture & Wellness Center is an acupuncture clinic in Pembroke Pines, FL that was founded in 2005 by David and Yelena Pakula, husband and wife acupuncturists. David and Yelena are both Florida licensed Acupuncture Physicians who are Board Certified by the NCCAOM as Diplomats of Oriental Medicine. They each earned a Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine (ATOM) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Together, David and Yelena have completed advanced post-graduate acupuncture training. They successfully completed a 150-hour certification training program in advanced Japanese Acupuncture & Moxibustion techniques in the tradition of Kiiko Matsumoto & Master Nagano. They completed advanced training in Tung style acupuncture and are officers of the World Tung Acupuncture Association, representing the organization in Florida. They also have studied Chinese medicine and philosophy with Daoist master Jeffrey Yuen.
Yelena Pakula was a Medical Doctor in St. Petersburg, Russia, specializing in neurology, osteopathy and acupuncture.

As an acupuncturist and hypnotherapist, my goal is to act as a catalyst for positive change in every patient. I specialize in a unique treatment that I refer to as "hypnoacupuncture," which is a combination of acupuncture and hypnotherapy. Combining the power of hypnosis with acupuncture has proven to create treatments that are effective on all levels: physical, mental, and emotional. Many patients describe these sessions as life-altering, and find them to be more deeply relaxing than anything they have ever experienced before. I treat many patients for weight-loss and smoking cessation, but I have found that these combination sessions of hypnosis and acupuncture can benefit endless issues, including depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Helen Castro earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver in 1992. She earned a Masters of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2007. This 3 1/2 year program consisted of 2,800 hours of education and clinical practice. Helen also completed an additional 3 year apprenticeship program in Five Element Acupuncture. Further, Helen completed internships in Neurology, Tuina, and Dermatology at Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine in Harbin, China. Last, she is certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, (NCCAOM) and licensed in the State of Colorado
