If you've been wanting to try acupuncture but are squeamish around needles, then Japanese acupuncture is a great way to start. The Japanese variety utilizes finer needles - barely thicker than a human hair. Instead of relying on a chart, more emphasis is placed on touch and palpation to find the correct insertion points. Before I pursued medicine, I embarked on a much more “traditional” career path. After graduating from Columbia University in New York City with a B.S. in Engineering and Management Systems, I worked for Ernst & Young, Thomson Financial, and other Wall Street firms as a strategy consultant and pharmaceutical compliance analyst. Miranda is a Licensed Acupuncturist and is certified by the National Certification Commision for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
