may I take a little of your time to tell you a little of my story? If you answered yes, read on. My introduction to acupuncture was due to a traumatic accident about twenty-two years ago. I injured my left neck/shoulder/arm and sciatic nerve in 1993 so I could not work as an EMT because I could not lift any thing heavier than a loaf of bread. After trying allopathic medicine for a year, the doctors told me that I would never heal so just learn to live with what left arm and leg movement remained. That's when I decided to try massage school. My injuries did start to heal with daily treatments over a years time but I wanted more pain relief and more strength in my arm and leg so I did more research and decided to start acupuncture school. That turned out to be the best decision of my life. Not only did my left arm and leg get well and pain free, (the muscles that had atrophied returned to their pre injury size) and best of all my pain was gone! The biggest blessing of all was that I found my life's passion. I became an acupuncturist and herbalist to share this healing art with my family and friends. Michael Hartlaub, L.Ac, has spent his life studying global healing traditions, and has traveled to Western Europe and Amazonian Peru to study indigenous herbal medicine.
Always seeking to improve upon his understanding of the dynamics of the human biosystem, Michael has made it his life's mission to facilitate partnerships that empower individuals to take further steps in their journey towards optimal wellness.
Michael is a nationally certified acupuncturist and Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio to practice acupuncture.

I have practiced acupuncture in California, in the Australia and New Zealand area, and now in the state of Washington. I have a wide range of experience treating a variety of ailments on a diverse patient population. Though my specialty is pain management, I also successfully treat internal medicine disorders such as respiratory (asthma, allergies) issues, digestive (IBS, Crohns), emotional (stress, anxiety) issues and gynecological and urinary disturbances.
