Sandy Root, AP, L.Ac., MSTOM, a FL & NY State Licensed Acupuncturist, graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York with her Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2009.
Sandy had clinical experience practicing acupuncture at the Saint Vincent’s Hospital -HIV Clinic, the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases – Initiative for Women with Disabilities, NYU Medical Center, and Pacific College Acupuncture Clinic, and now her own practice in Miami Beach, FL. She is also certified in Constitutional Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture.
Sandy loves to integrate the science, art, and wisdom of acupuncture into her practice. With her personal study of spiritual & consciousness practices, Sandy has the ability to facilitate and create a space where her patients are driven to empower themselves through the medicine. Drawn to many of the mystical practices that originated in ancient China for most of my life, I’ve been a California state licensed acupuncturist since 2002 and a student of the Jade Purity branch of Daoism since 2001.
After many years of questioning the nature of reality, and using these practices to work through my own struggles, heal old wounds, and find a deeper connection to the Divine, I’ve personally seen just how powerful and transformative this path can be.

My primary lens to treatment is Five Element, which focuses on healing through a re-alignment with authenticity and integrity. Globally we are witnessing the environmental repercussions of nature being overtaxed. Five Element explores the idea that the nature around us is also reflected inside us. It asks with consideration where our individual constitutions are over-functioning or compromised and redirects energy to restore balance.
I am a white practitioner utilizing a wellness practice outside of my culture. I decided to pursue acupuncture professionally after experiencing the depth of its influence. My offering is one of attunement, curiosity, thoughtfulness, and presence. My intention is to support clients in experiencing greater connectivity and peace inside their bodies and lives.
