I am always astounded by how resilient the human body is, and most of the time we do not appreciate it until there is a barrier that is preventing us from feeling optimal. For those of you that have had a sports related injury or any physical injury, there are times where you will surprise yourself with how quickly you can recover. I have personally used acupuncture to benefit physical endurance, alignment, and rehabilitation in exercise and my maintenance of overall health. Not only do acupuncture and herbs help to keep you looking and feeling good, regular treatments can also help to keep your immune system strong throughout the year!

I grew up drinking the herbal teas my mother used to make for my sister and me. She always told me that this was the way of taking care of the body, as these Chinese herbal remedies were passed down to her from my ancestors. I always doubted her until I decided to go to school to satiate my curiosity of my Chinese heritage and of alternative forms of medicine.

I have always been interested in medicine and finished my bachelors in microbiology and clinical laboratory science with hopes of going to medical school. After doing some research at Miami University about Aloe vera and its medicinal properties, and with some inspiration from my family, I made plans to pursue graduate studies at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. So far my journey to San Diego has opened my eyes to the benefits of both Eastern and Western medicines, which has also blessed me with the rewarding ability to help others. I am truly grateful for all the wonderful people that I have met along the way!

I am a huge supporter of preventative medicine and aging gracefully by living a healthy lifestyle. Some of my favorite hobbies include yoga, running, traveling, cooking with friends, and learning about different cultures around me. Dr. Kimberly Burger began attending acupuncture school in 1994 and graduated from The Academy of Advanced Complimentary Medicine in 1998 with a PhD in acupuncture and homeopathic medicine. Dr. Burger received clinical hours attending an acupuncture school in Columbo, SriLanka. With additional training in Dr. Tans Balance Method, Master Tung style and theory of acupuncture, interning with Dr. Chow Chen, certification in Cosmetic Facial Acupuncture and Macular Degeneration treatments to reverse and prevent continued degeneration of advancing eye diseases, Dr. Burger has a well rounded education with 29 years of clinical experience in the Chinese medical field of Traditional and Pre-Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2011 Dr. Burger moved her practice to beautiful Maui, Hawaii and was licensed in Hawaii in 2015 and has been serving the west side of Maui in Lahaina. In November 2023 after the Lahaina fires, Dr. Burger relocated her practice to Wailea and has added HBOT to her new location.

Dr. Burger uses Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to enhance and expedite the overall results of acupuncture treatments as well as to eliminate inflammation, pain and heal from chronic diseases including long haul covid and vaccine injury. HBOT is also used to enhance and promote collagen and keratin production in anti aging and cosmetic facial acupuncture.

Through the use of fine, micro acupuncture needles along with Clayton Shagal Marine Collagen skin care line, Dr. Burger offers an anti-aging or age reversal facial treatment that will reduce or reverse fine lines and wrinkles, lift and tighten the facial muscles and neck to produce a youthful, healthier and glowing appearance with results that last for up to 5 years post treatment.

Through the use of scalp needles, HBOT and electronic muscle stimulation, Dr. Burger offers a very successful treatment for post stroke recovery, neurological diseases such as Parkinson's, MS, ALS, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and spinal cord injuries.

Through the use of essential oils, acupuncture, herbs and hyperbaric medicine, Dr. Burger is helping to support patients with cancer who are undergoing traditional treatments with an oncologist or have chosen to receive the non traditional treatment using ancient chinese medicine, herbs, essential oils, HBOT and the amazing power of prayer.

Dr. Burger maintains a license in both Arizona since 1999 and Hawaii since 2014.

Caitlin is a board certified acupuncturist, clinical herbalist, and is a skilled and intuitive practitioner. She specializes in women’s health and the treatment of fertility.

Caitlin graduated from a three-year program with a Masters of Science in Acupuncture from Bastyr University, and is nationally board certified. She has received additional training in women’s health and fertility, pediatric care, and facial rejuvenation.

The power of combining acupuncture and Chinese herbal therapies with western medicine yields incredible results. Caitlin is fascinated by bringing the 3,000 year old Eastern medicine into contemporary medical times. Caitlin believes that acupuncture and Eastern medicine are key components of today’s health care system. She works well with allied health professionals and would love to be a member of your health care team.

Caitlin also works at Bastyr University’s Chinese herbal dispensary as a shift supervisor. Teaching the students a hands on experience with the raw, granular and patent herbal formulas, as well as how to run and operate a successful herbal dispensary for their future practices.

In her practice, Caitlin sees patients coming in for a wide variety of symptoms. However, her expertise and passions lie in treating women’s health and wellness, from fertility with IUI/IVF support, pregnancy support, postpartum, stress, insomnia, fatigue, chronic and acute pain, headaches, to digestive health. For Caitlin, there is nothing quite like the awe and satisfaction of helping a woman to heal and reconnect with her body as she navigates through the path to a successful pregnancy.
