In the spirit of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a primary goal of Essential Health Acupuncture is to provide our patients with a broader understanding of health and more lasting sense of well-being. I have been interested in Oriental Medicine for over 20 years and have incorporated acupressure, shiatsu and acupuncture in my previous massage and chiropractic practices. Since finishing my studies at the University of Bridgeport Acupuncture Institute and moving to Glens Falls, I have concentrated on acupuncture although I draw on my previous experience to help patients. I feel that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is more than just acupuncture but a way of life that includes exercise, diet and mental outlook. Acupuncture is a powerful tool that allows people to deal with the stresses of everyday living: work, family, aging relatives, what's going on in the world. Addressing all these demands takes a toll; TCM and acupuncture gives people a mechanism to heal themselves and a place where they can begin to bring balance back into their lives.
I enjoy using my experience to work with patients so they can enjoy living and be less burdened down by the demands of their life.

Sarah became interested in acupuncture as a career during high school. She chose to study physiology at the Lyman Brigg's School of Michigan State University. After undergrad, Sarah continued her education at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, OR. She spent 3 full years learning Chinese Medicine, including anatomy, physiology, Chinese medical theory, western pathology, acupuncture, Chinese herbology, nutrition, shiatsu massage, taichi,
and qigong. She also completed a 1 year internship in her last year of school, where she studied under both Chinese and Western acupuncturists and herbalists. She completed her qigong training with a certification to teach 1000 Hands Buddha Qigong.

These include Chinese medical theory, the treatment of stress, anxiety, and pain, women's health, GI disorders and allergies. She has studied balance method with Dr. Tan, the Mei Zen Cosmetic acupuncture system, the Battlefield Acupuncture protocol for pain management and Chinese language. Most recently she has completed a 3 weekend intensive training in Sports Medicine Acupuncture and is working on completing the ABORM exam for certification in reproductive medicine.
