Moon Hill Acupuncture is located in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Ashlie R Martin, L.Ac., Dipl.O.M. works with women during their fertility, pregnancy, and motherhood journey. She offers physical and emotional support as they traverse the various phases of conceiving, being pregnant, and healing from birth. Ashlie offers in-home treatments during the postpartum period and in the event of bed rest. Ashlie also treats a variety of other issues including digestive problems, migraines, insomnia, injury recovery, and emotional concerns such as grief, anxiety, depression, and stress. John Howard completed his degree in acupuncture from the Maryland Institute of Traditional Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. John holds two professorships; one in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the other in Western Medicine from George Washington University (GWU). Professor (Prof) Howard lectured on suturing and minor trauma management.
Upon completion of his degree Prof Howard entered into a five-year fellowship with the US military under the direction of Dr. Richard Niemtzow, MD, PHD. Prof Howard is both a clinician and an Academician. As an academician, he provides national and international lectures in acupuncture and auriculotherapy. He has authored five books and 21 articles on these two fields. He is also dedicated to the promotion of knowledge and has been awarded the dissemination of seminal works of Dr. Raphael Nogier (The RAFT (Radial Artery Food Test) and of Dr. René Bourdiol (Elements of Auriculotherapy).
In 2014 Prof Howard served as the vice president of the 8th International Symposium of Auriculotherapy in the United States. In 2016 Prof Howard became a consultant for ZeroMed (a holistic medical goods company) to design auriculotherapy protocols. Currently he is the President of the United States branch of the Raphael Nogier School of Auriculotherapy.
Research
John is currently conducting studies on the use of Auriculotherapy in distance runners to enhance performance. Some of men on team USA who won the world 100k gold medal in the Nederland’s in 2011 used his protocol.

I have practiced in the Healing Arts for 40 years.
My career began as a Registered Nurse at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where I specialized in Med/Surgical nursing and later Psychiatric nursing when I received my Masters Degree in Nursing at the University of Maryland. My graduate degree in Nursing was a natural first step into the holistic approach and philosophy of my graduate degree in Chinese Medicine. I blend my vast nursing background into my acupuncture treatments as I treat a wide variety of physical and emotional/spiritual issues.
I have effectively treated anxiety, sleep disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, depression, skin disorders, fibromyalgia, menopausal and menstrual disorders, TMJ, infertility and back/neck/shoulder pain, just to name few.
I hold a Masters degree in Acupuncture and I am Licensed and Nationally Certified with NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine – Public Protection Through Quality Credentials).
The learning process is ongoing as I delve deeper into this 5,000 year old medical art form in my own treatment room. My patients benefit from my years of academic studies, my acupuncture treatment experience, and my life experience as a wife and a mother of two teenagers.

Alabama born and in practice since 1989, Dr. Mick is one of the first American born doctors of acupuncture and Oriental medicine in the country having training in the U.S., Europe and China. After completing a bachelors degree in pre-med health sciences on the East coast, masters and doctoral degrees in acupuncture and Oriental medicine on the West coast, Dr. Mick worked as an acupuncture intern at two TCM university hospitals in China
Upon returning from China, Dr. Mick has served as a professor and clinical supervisor at two acupuncture and Oriental medicine colleges and worked with medical doctors at integrative clinics around the U.S., Europe, Central and South America. Dr. Mick has successfully treated thousands of patients for a wide variety of conditions through decades of practice, including work as an acupuncturist volunteer for numerous Church medical missions in the U.S. and abroad.
