In Traditional Chinese Medicine, disease contains two parts analogous to the roots and branches of a tree. The symptoms are like branches, and if you only treat them, the same roots will soon grow the same symptoms again. To effectively heal, one must address the root cause of the of illness so the tree may grow healthy branches. Additionally, two people may both experience a similar disease but have very different underlying root causes. Likewise, two others may have very different diseases but have the same root cause. I have been interested in Oriental Medicine for over 20 years and have incorporated acupressure, shiatsu and acupuncture in my previous massage and chiropractic practices. Since finishing my studies at the University of Bridgeport Acupuncture Institute and moving to Glens Falls, I have concentrated on acupuncture although I draw on my previous experience to help patients. I feel that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is more than just acupuncture but a way of life that includes exercise, diet and mental outlook. Acupuncture is a powerful tool that allows people to deal with the stresses of everyday living: work, family, aging relatives, what's going on in the world. Addressing all these demands takes a toll; TCM and acupuncture gives people a mechanism to heal themselves and a place where they can begin to bring balance back into their lives.

Lindsay Trottier, DACM L.Ac. is a board-certified acupuncturist and doctor of acupuncture and Chinese medicine practicing in San Diego, CA.
Dr. Trottier first entered the profession of health and wellness as a certified personal trainer and then as a receptionist in an acupuncture clinic. As a competitive student-athlete, Dr Trottier has always been interested in functional movement and healthy recovery. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she was inspired to begin her training in acupuncture and herbal medicine. In 2015, Dr. Trottier began an apprenticeship with Eileen Han to extend her knowledge of the Balance Method acupuncture made famous by Dr. Richard Tan.
Dr. Trottier has experience helping patients of all ages with sports injuries, chronic pain syndromes, digestive complaints, women’s health issues, pre- and post-natal care, cancer-treatment side effects, mental-emotional health, and people with developmental and acquired disabilities.
Her training includes working with NCAA athletes at the UCSD RIMAC center, supporting patients undergoing treatment for various cancers at the UCSD Cancer Center in Encinitas and Rady's Children's Hospital, and caring for children admitted to the Helen Bernardy Center for Medically Fragile Children.
In 2019, Dr. Trottier completed her BaZi Consultant Certification through The Academy of Acupuncture, and now incorporates this understanding of chronoanalysis into her acupuncture practice and also offers virtual consultations to people around the world.
