In Traditional Chinese Medicine, disease contains two parts analogous to the roots and branches of a tree. The symptoms are like branches, and if you only treat them, the same roots will soon grow the same symptoms again. To effectively heal, one must address the root cause of the of illness so the tree may grow healthy branches. Additionally, two people may both experience a similar disease but have very different underlying root causes. Likewise, two others may have very different diseases but have the same root cause. At Rooted Medicine, Andrea Hingst L.Ac. MSOM, draws from experiences in integrated hospitals and private practice to combine traditional Chinese therapies with modern functional medicine to identify each individual’s unique foundational imbalance to heal from the roots up.

Allison’s formal training was completed at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon where she received a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine with Honors. Training in Classical Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Qigong and Worsley Five Element Acupuncture has filled Allison’s toolbox with effective means for treating disease and walking with patients towards harmony and a more ease-filled life.

Dr Robert Wallace’s passion is to guide others toward a life of abundant energy, radiant health & harmonious balance. Robert has helped hundreds of patients with a variety of chronic health conditions from anxiety, depression and stress to PMS, infertility and Women’s Health to digestive & immune disorders and chronic pain. He believes in our innate healing wisdom and has been practicing what he preaches for quite a while now. Since a young age, Robert has always had a fascination with medicine, healing and Eastern Cultures. He has been practicing both Qi Gong and meditation for many years and attributes his great energy, focus and calmness to these practices. After creating a lifestyle based on wellness, Robert became inspired to focus his career path on helping others reclaim their health and wellness.

Dr Robert Wallace is the Director of Chicago Holistic Medicine, a Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc), Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine [DACM], Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Dipl OM) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and Reiki Master (Usui Lineage). Robert completed his Certification in Massage Therapy at the Chicago School of Massage Therapy and his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine-Chicago. He has been practicing in Chicago since 1996.

I am a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Arizona. I began studying TCM theory at The Won Institute in Philadelphia, PA before transitioning forward into the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, FL.

My primary lens to treatment is Five Element, which focuses on healing through a re-alignment with authenticity and integrity. Globally we are witnessing the environmental repercussions of nature being overtaxed. Five Element explores the idea that the nature around us is also reflected inside us. It asks with consideration where our individual constitutions are over-functioning or compromised and redirects energy to restore balance.

I am a white practitioner utilizing a wellness practice outside of my culture. I decided to pursue acupuncture professionally after experiencing the depth of its influence. My offering is one of attunement, curiosity, thoughtfulness, and presence. My intention is to support clients in experiencing greater connectivity and peace inside their bodies and lives. My treatments aim to disrupt internal discomfort and increase our capacity to manage mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
