His degree combined both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. As a part of his course, he attended an internship at Shanghai Shuguang Hospital, China. Cynthia Estremera Fitzgerald, L.Ac., Dipl. O.M. is a California and Illinois state Licensed Acupuncturist and a Nationally certified Diplomat of Chinese Medicine and Herbology. She completed her undergraduate work in Biology and Music at the University of California, Irvine. She received her postgraduate degree in Chinese Medicine from Southern California University of Health Sciences, where Cynthia was on the Dean’s List and graduated with honors. Her previous work as a massage therapist, athletic coach and nutrition specialist has helped her develop a more comprehensive view of the body. a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Cynthia is dedicated to healing her patient’s whole body, mind, and spirit. She recognizes each patient as a unique individual and she works with each patient to help them find their unique path to wellness and happiness. My career began as a Registered Nurse at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where I specialized in Med/Surgical nursing and later Psychiatric nursing when I received my Masters Degree in Nursing at the University of Maryland. My graduate degree in Nursing was a natural first step into the holistic approach and philosophy of my graduate degree in Chinese Medicine. I blend my vast nursing background into my acupuncture treatments as I treat a wide variety of physical and emotional/spiritual issues.
I have effectively treated anxiety, sleep disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, depression, skin disorders, fibromyalgia, menopausal and menstrual disorders, TMJ, infertility and back/neck/shoulder pain, just to name few.
I hold a Masters degree in Acupuncture and I am Licensed and Nationally Certified with NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine – Public Protection Through Quality Credentials).
