Khadijah is a licensed acupuncturist and board certified herbalist with an interest in helping people with pain disorders, anxiety, autoimmune disorders, and creative blocks. The embodiment of creative solutions is the main component to healing. Chinese medical theory is a reflection on nature including the cycles inherent in the human organism. The practice of Chinese medicine is the application of philosophy to benefit body and mental processes.

The metaphorical language the art employs can help us to understand how our experiences, whether mental or physical, are created and resolved in natural processes. It is a method of healing that integrates reflection and imagination with the beauty of living.

Rooted Medicine Acupuncture

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, disease contains two parts analogous to the roots and branches of a tree. The symptoms are like branches, and if you only treat them, the same roots will soon grow the same symptoms again. To effectively heal, one must address the root cause of the of illness so the tree may grow healthy branches. Additionally, two people may both experience a similar disease but have very different underlying root causes. Likewise, two others may have very different diseases but have the same root cause. At Rooted Medicine, Andrea Hingst L.Ac. MSOM, draws from experiences in integrated hospitals and private practice to combine traditional Chinese therapies with modern functional medicine to identify each individual’s unique foundational imbalance to heal from the roots up.

Lana Moshkovich
1500 Shermer Rd #LL29
Lana Moshkovich, LAc, ND, MSOM, trained in both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), offers acupuncture, as well as a dietary approach, alone or with herbal remedies, to resolve musculoskeletal pain and numbness, gastrointestinal complains, chronic conditions, insomnia, anxiety and women’s health issues. She has opened a new office in the heart of downtown Glenview on the second floor at 1834 Glenview Road.

She states, “My primary goal is to provide my patients with a broader understanding of health and a more lasting sense of well-being. Instead of the traditional disease-centered focus of conventional medicine, naturopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine apply a patient-centered approach that addresses the whole person, rather than simply symptoms.

“I combine the discipline of modern science with the wisdom of ancient healing and take advantage of the knowledge of several disciplines, including dietary therapy, healing touch, tuina therapy and psychology,” says Moshkovich. “What this means is that patient and provider work together to develop an integrated diagnostic and therapeutic plan that will best address the patient’s health concern.”
