Cathy’s journey in the healing arts began at the tender age of 9, exploring martial arts such as Wing Chun Kung Fu, Qigong, and Tai Chi. This early fascination with body mechanics and movement naturally led her into a career in holistic therapies.
Her Shiatsu journey began in 2014 at the Shiatsu College Hastings, where she graduated in 2017 as the youngest practitioner in her cohort. Her passion for holistic medicine originated from her personal health journey, as she sought answers for her digestive issues, skin ailments, and emotional pain, eventually discovering acupuncture.
She got a Master's of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine, completed in 2020. She is a Diplomate of Acupuncture through the NCCAOM and a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Michigan. Lisa Blake practices using both Chinese and Japanese style acupuncture as well as Chinese Herbs. She received her Masters of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture and is nationally Board certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Lisa is also certified in Auricular Acupuncture through the Auriculotherapy Certification Institute, Inc. Lisa studied Biology and Chemistry to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Connecticut State University and also has a Master of Business Administration from Averett University.
Prior to attending acupuncture school Lisa worked for almost 20 years in the Federal Reserve System, and during that time realized that she wanted to spend her time working in a profession that could touch more people’s lives in a way that they could really appreciate. Then through her own health challenges she discovered acupuncture and the rest is history. Lisa’s health journey has given her great insight into how people can feel when there is a health challenge and can no longer do the things they love to do.
