A Sarasota resident since 1996 Ms. Bociek had suffered for years from disabling pain and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. After exhausting Western medical treatment she turned to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. She has since been living drug and pain free. This personal experience gives her a unique understanding of the physical, mental and financial toll an illness can take.
A native of Massachusetts, Kim Bociek received her B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Her medical education continued at the East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota where she received her Masters degree in Oriental Medicine and is now a Board Certified Acupuncture Physician. Later on Mrs. Sparks was a principal clinical researcher running projects funded by China's Bureau of Traditional Chinese medicine and material medica. Mrs. Sparks also worked seven years at the University of Cincinnati College of medicine in cardiology research. Overall she has been involved in Acupuncture practice, Chinese herbal medicine, and biomedical research more than 26 years.
