Karen is a graduate of the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago and received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. She is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Illinois as well as a National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) certified herbalist. She is also a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) and provides ear acupuncture as a part of a comprehensive model of care to help with addictions, PTSD, and behavioral health. She enjoys working with a variety of conditions such as emotional, stress-based conditions, anxiety, depression, digestive disorders, and women’s health. I completed my extensive education and training in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine culminating in a Masters Degree in Acupuncture through the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) in Newton, MA.
As an Intern, I practiced Acupuncture at New England School of Acupuncture Teaching Center Clinic, Boston Medical Center Family outpatient center, Winchester Hospital Family Medical Center, Malden Family Medicine Center and Element Care in Lynn, Mass. My extensive training consisted of over 700 hours of direct patient practice.
I have successfully treated conditions such as migraines, headaches, back pain, hip pain, knee pain, asthma, anxiety, shoulder pain, neck pain, mild to moderate depression, smoking cessation, digestive issues, endometriosis, TMJ and more.
