I was Nationally Certified and started practicing acupuncture in NY City in 2006. I was licensed in California in 2013. Since I have been a massage therapist specializing in chronic pain and myofascial work for 20 years, most of my acupuncture is working with physical pain. Amy Lor, LAc, EAMP., Dipl. O.M., graduated from Bastyr University, a regionally accredited, globally respected institution of natural health arts and sciences, with a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She was drawn to medicine through her own health challenges.
Her very first health problem that she sought acupuncture treatment for was low back pain. She had severe low back pain during pregnancy. With two treatments her low back pain resolved and never came back throughout her pregnancy.
She have used Chinese medicine to effectively treat many health concerns. John K. Miller, MAOM, L.Ac, is a licensed acupuncturist practicing in New York City. A graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture, John earned a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Since 2006, he has studied with Tom Tam, learning Tong Ren, Tom Tam’s Healing System. He practices Tai Qi, yoga, Qi Gong, Pang Gu and meditation. For exercise, John runs regularly in Central Park, practices Hatha Yoga, commutes throughout the city on his bicycle and is an avid telemark skier.
John was born and raised in Roxbury, Massachusetts. After graduating from Dartmouth College, he pursued a professional basketball career in Europe. Following his athletic career, John spent a decade in India, offering his service at an international not-for-profit Charitable Trust. During his stay, he studied India’s indigenous system of medicine, Ayurveda. He returned to the United States to study Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in Boston. His teachers include Master Ou Wen Wei, Paul Fraser and Ken Wong.
