South Baylo University (SBU) clinics are dedicated on providing the highest quality of clinical education to the interns. SBU interns are trained to conduct standardized procedures, identify medical emergency situations, and develop treatment protocols for patients. Interns are educated to explain major concepts and theories of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AOM). Interns will perform, along with the guidance of a supervisor, AOM diagnostic methods, formulate, implement, monitor, and adapt acupuncture treatment plans.

Ali Sherbiny, M.Ac.O.M., L.Ac. is a nationally certified and Virginia Board of Medicine-licensed acupuncturist and herbalist with a private practice in Arlington, Virginia.
He received his Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ASOM).
His experience includes integrative treatment, community acupuncture, as well as private practice. His practice specializes in the treatment of pain, insomnia, chronic fatigue, and stress-related effects on the body and combines acupuncture with bodywork (Tui Na massage) and cupping to achieve his clinical results.
His continuing education coursework has included study of the Tung family lineage style of acupuncture with Richard Tan, Brad Whisnant, and Henry McCann and food medicine (Chinese & Western Nutrition) with Dr. Ardeschir Mehrabani, NMD, Noemi Quintanar, NMD, RM, MT, and Dr. Marlene Merritt, LAc, DOM, MS Nutrition. Most recently he studied with Thea Elijah, LAc, former director of the Chinese Herbal Studies Program at TAI Sophia Institute, for a deeper understanding and embodiment of 5-element medicine.
Prior to his graduate studies at ASOM, he studied organic farming as an apprentice under a master gardener and worked in organic food sales with Green Star Farms in Blacksburg, VA.
Ali received his B.A. in Sociology from Virginia Tech. He continues to see social and lineage implications to health and healing and loves working with people who have the aspiration to break free from negative psycho-emotional patterns.

Moon Hill Acupuncture is located in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Ashlie R Martin, L.Ac., Dipl.O.M. works with women during their fertility, pregnancy, and motherhood journey. She offers physical and emotional support as they traverse the various phases of conceiving, being pregnant, and healing from birth. Marcia is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Her doctoral work specialized in Family Medicine with an emphasis in pain management and mental health. Her internship began at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2005, after graduation in 2008 she went into private practice treating a wide range of ages and health concerns. Karen is a graduate of the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago and received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. She is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Illinois as well as a National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) certified herbalist. She is also a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist (ADS) and provides ear acupuncture as a part of a comprehensive model of care to help with addictions, PTSD, and behavioral health.
